Teatown: There was only one written comment during the hearing on plans for major changes and upgrades to the campus, including a new educational building for indoor and outdoor classrooms, revised parking layouts for smoother traffic flow and upgrades to the existing nature building. The writer expressed concern about the impact of the proposed new educational building on Blinn Road and urged the Board to retain the road’s rustic character. The hearing was closed.
Curry Honda: The Board approved the site plan that includes changes to the façade, additional landscaping in front of the building and changes to the lighting plan so that the lighting does not negatively impact residential properties to the rear. See below regarding Curry’s plan for a rooftop solar installation.
401 East Main Street, Jefferson Valley. The plan is for a small, 24’x 30’ two story office building on the site adjacent to the former Osceola Beach and once the home of a bar. The Board’s main concern was that the applicant needed to provide more details about proposed landscaping, where outdoor storage containers would be located on the site, the proposed parking in front of the building and the need to show the wetland buffer on the site plan. The building would be serviced by a septic system.
Solar law moratorium. On a referral from the Town Board, the Board agreed to send a memo recommending that the proposed law exempt large scale rooftop solar installations from the law.
While the proposed Curry application may have a visual impact, Board members felt they could deal with issue during their site plan review.
