The Board authorized hiring  the town’s outside traffic consult to study the traffic impact of a proposed day care center on Route 202, roughly between Downing Park and Route 132. The Board authorized the supervisor to sign an Indemnity Agreement with Lake Mohegan Manor, LCC relating to the company’s ongoing use of the 8.9 acre town owned parcel as a parking lot for trucks, construction equipment and cars. The agreement  holds the company, and its sole member, liable for any environmental damage on the site dating back to 2016. The parcel is adjacent to the company’s Fieldstone Manor single family development. According to recreation fee requirement in the plan’s approval, the developer is supposed build three pickleball courts and a basketball court on the site.

Master Fee Schedule. The Board adopted a revised Master Fee Schedule that includes the new fees related to water meters.  A last minute addition to the Schedule was a change to the legal fees that land use applications are required to pay, e.g., documents involving easements, variance applications and SEQRA review. The Schedule sets initial fees, plus an hourly charge if the initial review exceeds five hours.  Councilwoman Siegel reminded the Board that although the fees have been in place for many years, they were not being collected. Supervisor Lachterman said he has had calls from applicants about the fee.
