Note: From the start, it was clear that these meeting summaries, unlike meeting minutes, would include only some of the many subjects discussed at the meeting. The blog’s goal was to bring to the reader’s attention subjects that dealt with town issues that impacted residents and their quality of life such as, but not limited to, finance, specific town services and land use and environmental issues.
While Tuesday’s meeting lasted for 2.26 minutes, there weren’t many issues that met that criteria. Hence this very abbreviated summary. But, as always, this summary includes a link the meeting for those who want more information.

Solar/energy projects. The Board approved a resolution to hire Sustainable Westchester, at a cost not to exceed $2,000, to provide technical assistance to develop an RFP for “solar and/or energy storage system projects on municipal facilities.”
After Councilwomen Siegel noted that the resolution differed from a July 1 resolution that was limited to an RFP for rooftop solar systems and which was never finalized or advertised, she added that it wasn’t clear what types of projects the new resolution was asking Sustainable Westchester to include in the RFP, e.g., rooftop, ground mounted, canopies over parking lots or what kind of battery storage facilities, Supervisor Lachterman said he would look at “anything that makes sense and does not impact the public.” (Note: In earlier discussions about possible locations for solar projects, when a canopy over the Granite Knolls parking lot was brought up, the majority of the Board opposed the idea. This time there was no discussion about what type of projects the Board might consider for what locations.)
Candlelight vigil. The chairmen of both the Republican and Democratic Town Committees announced plans for a candlelight vigil, tentatively scheduled for Sunday, September 21 at the Gazebo behind the community center, to address the need to denounce violence in the public square. Still to be decided is whether speakers will include elected officials or be limited to faith based representatives.
